Kaup finishes in first place on vault (11/10/06)

Hannah Kaup earned a first-place finish as gymnasts from Portland's Gym City Gymnastics competed in a meet in Connersville Nov. 4.
Kaup topped the list of local competitors, scoring a 9.225 to win the 10-11-year-old Level 4 vault. She was also sixth on the floor exercise with an 8.75.
The top all-around results from Morgan Brown, a Level 5 gymnasts who finished 8th with a total of 33.925. Her best result in an individual event was fourth in the uneven bars with an 8.6. Lizzy Schoenlein, also Level 5, was seventh on the balance beam at 7.95.

A member of the Jay County High School wrestling team is ranked among the top 10 in the nation.
Keri VanSkyock, a freshman, opened the season ranked ninth at 152 pounds by the United States Girls Wrestling Association.[[In-content Ad]]
