The next milestone for Joscie Kaup is within reach.
Already the holder of every defensive record for the Syracuse University volleyball team, Kaup, a 2004 Fort Recovery High School graduate, can now only hit personal milestones. She was set to push past the double-century mark in digs Friday night as she entered the match against DePaul with 1,995 digs for her career.
The senior, who was named Syracuse's Scholar-Athlete of the Week Monday, had 20 digs in the most recent match for the Orange, a three-game win Sunday over Georgetown. She also had a pair of assists.
Kaup added 12 digs, two assists and an ace in a loss Oct. 5 to South Florida.
She remains atop the Big East in digs with a total of 339, and second in the conference with 4.77 per game. She also has 31 assists, 25 aces and two kills on the season.
Kaup has been on the Athletic Directors Honor Roll every semester at Syracuse, and has been a Big East Academic All-Star in each of her first three seasons.
Krystal Rammel
Fort Recovery - 2005
Earned Ohio Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors Wednesday.
Rammel, an outside hitter for Sinclair Community College, racked up 48 digs and 45 kills in wins last week over Lakeland, Edison and Cuyahoga community colleges.
She also had 16 blocks, five aces and two assists.
Alyssa Johnson
Jay County - 2006
Helped the Taylor University women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish out of six teams at Saturday's Indiana Wesleyan Invitational.
Johnson went back-to-back with teammate Elise Knapp, finishing 15th in 20-minutes, three seconds. Knapp was sixth in 20:04.
Tiff Gaerke
Fort Recovery - 2007
Contributed a trio of kills as the No. 15 University of Dayton women's volleyball team improved to 19-0 Oct. 6 with a three-game win over La Salle.
Gaerke saw action in two of the three games, recording her three kills on eight attack attempts. She also had six digs and one assist.
For the season the freshman has 23 digs, 18 kills, five aces and a pair of blocks.
Jill Roughia
Jay County - 2005
Took the top spot for the Huntington University women's cross country team at Marian College's E. DeWitt Baker Invitational.
Roughia led the Foresters with a seventh place finish in 20-minutes, 44 seconds.
Joseph Vormohr
Jay County - 2006
Made another start at center for the Hanover College football team in its 56-21 loss to undefeated Mount St. Joseph.
Luke McClung
Jay County - 2007
Played eight minutes and attempted one shot for the Anderson College men's soccer team, which fell 5-1 to Hanover.
Casey Waters

Saw action in the Manchester College football team's 20-13 victory over Bluffton.
