MUNCIE - Five members of the Jay County Winter Swim Team came home with victories Sunday as the squad placed second at the Ball State University Fall Invitational.
James Keen led the team with four victories as Jay County finished second behind Muncie Cardinal. He took the top spot in the 11-12-year-old boys 50-yard freestyle, 50 butterfly, 50 backstroke and 200 individual medley.
Anne Vormohr was first in the 11-12-year-old girls 50 breaststroke, 50 freestyle and 200 individual medley, and Eliza Bader won the 8-and-younger 25 breaststroke and 25 backstroke. Sophie Bader took the 11-12-year-old girls 50 butterfly, and Aaron Hudson won the 15-and-older 100 breaststroke.
JV gridders lose
MARIAN STEIN, Ohio - Fort Recovery's junior varsity football team lost 42-6 Saturday to the host Marion Local Flyers.
Shane Brunswick turned in the lone touchdown for the Indians on a 6-yard run.
