Lee nets 8 in soccer

Zarron Lee found the net eight times for his team in the West Jay Community Center summer soccer league, as the Lions topped the Tigers 12-0 Saturday.
Lee drilled four goals in each half and got support from teammates Matt Paquett and Shianne Wolf, who added three and one, respectively in the shutout win.
Other top performers in soccer action Saturday were Elizabeth Wendel with four goals and Alizabeth Stotler, Taylor Lowe, Kaleb Nunley and Sophie Fugiett, all with three goals.

Montpelier results
Travis Nichols took second place in a makeup Thunder Car race at Montpelier Motor Speedway as several area racers competed Saturday.
Nichols finished second among 16 cars in the make-up race from May 18. He was edged by Chris Hunter of Kokomo for the top spot. Brian Baldauf and Steve Mills, both of Portland, finished eighth and ninth, respectively.
In the 12-car Super Streets race, Jamie Heiser, Fort Recovery, took a sixth place finish; Richard Williams, Portland, crossed seventh; and Baldauf was behind him in eighth.
And in the scheduled Thunder Car race Saturday, Mills finished fourth; Nichols ended in eighth; Baldauf nabbed 10th, Shawn Wible, Bryant, finished 11th among 17 cars.[[In-content Ad]]
