Lehman, Goodwin pace Starfires

MONROEVILLE — Aleesha Goodwin and Kelli Lehman won a pair of events, leading the South Adams High School girls track team to a win Tuesday.
South Adams scored 73 points to take first. The host Heritage finished second with 62 points. Bluffton placed third with 20 points.
The Starfire boys placed second with 50 points. Bluffton won with 59 points, and Heritage was third with 43.
Lehman took the top spot in the 100-meter hurdles and long jump, and Goodwin won the 1,600 and 3,200 runs. Sydney Willis (400 dash), Caroline Kloepper (200 dash) and Alli Amstutz (shot put) all won individual events for the Starfires.
For the boys, Bailey McIntire won the distance events, winning both the 1,600 and 3,200 runs. Drew LeFever placed first in discus.

Clouser medals
BLUFFTON — Cal Clouser shot a 40 to earn match medalist honors as the South Adams boys golf team placed first Tuesday at Timber Ridge Golf Course.
The Starfires scored a 192 for the win. The host Bluffton Tigers were second with 207, and Southern Wells placed third with 219.
Derek Fox (45) and Brad Green (49) joined Clouser as the only golfers to post rounds under 50. Jacob Rife rounded out the Starfires’ score with his round of 58.
SA tennis rolls
BERNE — The Starfire girls tennis team improved to 8-4 on the season with a 4-1 win Tuesday over Huntington North.
South Adams won in straight sets at No. 3 singles and both doubles matches. Maddie Kloepper beat Emily Eherenman 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
Kylea Pierce and Riley Liechty beat Ana Eckert and Emily Karst 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles, and at No. 2 doubles, Ericka Miller and Kara Seffernick defeated Sarah Fryman and Alisha Leffler 7-5, 6-3.
Maddie Graber also won for South Adams, recovering after dropping the first set 7-5 to beat Casey Richman at No. 2 singles, 5-7, 6-3, 10-2.
Brittany Potts took the only loss for the Starfires, losing to Kyle Freder[[In-content Ad]]
