Lennartz, Roush lead Eagle girls (04/24/08)

DUNKIRK - Liz Lennartz and Megan Roush combined to lead the West Jay Middle School girls track team to a 61-39 victory Wednesday over the visiting Southern Wells Raiders.
The Eagle boys lost, 75-25.
Lennartz and Roush each won a field event and a track event, with the former taking the high jump at 4 feet, 5 inches and the 400-meter dash with a time of 1-minute, 11 seconds. Roush won the long jump at 12 feet, 8 inches and the hurdles in 19.89.
In addition to her individual wins, Lennartz also teamed with Megan Sawyer, Miranda Gerber and Megan Price to take first place with a time of 5:07 in the 4x400 relay.
Sara Lennartz added a victory in the discus with a toss of 73 feet, 4 inches, and Sawyer, Price, Paige Alsip and Audrey Avey tamed to win the 4x100 relay in 58.8.
Both of the victories for the West Jay boys team came in field events. Chance Fuller won the long jump, and Taylor Hatzell was first in the discus.[[In-content Ad]]
