Locos shut out Portland

LIMA, Ohio — The Rockets had a tough time keeping the Locos off the bases on Tuesday.
They also had trouble getting timely hits.
The Portland Rockets struck out 13 times and left two or more runners on base in four innings in a 10-0 loss to the Lima Locos.
Lima took a 2-0 lead in the second inning, added three more runs in the third and sixth innings to break the game open, then tacked on two more in the seventh.
Portland (2-3) managed only five hits and 13 strikeouts. Logan Hug, Geoff Bowers, Cody Krumlauf, Kyle Markle and Conner Milligan tallied the hits for the Rockets.
Yorktown’s Justin Miller took the loss, with Alex Delk, Evan Van Gordon and Milligan also seeing time on the bump.
The four Rocket pitchers struggled, combining to walk nine and hit three Locos.
Crossroads tops Fisher
Despite racking up nine hits, Fisher Meats lost to Crossroads Federal Credit Union 14-5 Tuesday in Minor softball action of Portland Junior League.
Rieley Brewster, Justice Day and Drew Dressel all had two hits for Fisher. Emma Swingley, Grace Brewster and Kearston Myers each added one hit.[[In-content Ad]]
