DUNKIRK - Ian Miller left no doubt.

Miller did all the scoring for his Jaguars as they finished the regular seasons unbeaten. His squad knocked off the Tigers 8-4 to finish 6-0 in the West Jay Community Center Summer Soccer League.

In other games the Cheetahs defeated the Lions 5-3, the Lightning knocked off the Hurricanes 5-3 and the Thunder blanked the Twisters 11-0.

Miller's eight goals pushed his season total to 30, which led the Wildcat Division. Chip Wendel scored all four goals for the Tigers, who finished 4-2.

Desiree Duncan and Ryan McAbee each totaled four goals as the Thunder picked up its first win of the year. Conner Davis and Alex Nelson each scored twice in the Cheetahs' victory, and Daniel Fugiett had two goals for the Lightning.

Gray 6th at age group

PLYMOUTH and ANGOLA - Adam Gray shot two rounds in the 70s July 2 and 3 to finish in the tie for sixth in the 15-18-year-old division at the Indiana Golf Foundation's Age Group Championship.

The Jay County High School senior added an 84 Wednesday in the Mountain Dew Tour event at Zollner Golf Course.

Gray played a consistent opening round at Indiana National Golf Club, posting 12 pars and a birdie for a 4-over-par 76. He had three birdies in the second round for a 77, finishing eight strokes behind Champion Alex Stinson of Anderson.

He tied for sixth place with Bryan Milloy of Nashville, Brad Gehl of Carmel and Zac Kinch of Marion.

At Zollner Wednesday Gray finished in a three-way tie for 14th with an 84. His round included four birdies.

Redkey wins pair

REDKEY - A pair of host teams won championships recently as Redkey hosted Fourth of July baseball and softball tournaments.

Redkey's teams finished atop the standings with 4-0 records in both the 8-and-younger and 12-and-younger baseball divisions. Other winners were the Muncie Chiefs in 10-and-younger baseball, Galaxy in 10-and-younger softball and Monroe Central in 12-and-younger softball.

Collin Saxman keyed the Redkey victory with a home run in the 12-and-younger baseball championship game. Redkey won the title game in the 12-and-younger tournament by a 14-4 score over Portland.

Portland was also the runner-up in 8-and-younger baseball and 12-and-younger softball. Redkey finished second in the remaining two divisions.[[In-content Ad]]
