MARION - A pair of Starfires qualified for the Hoosier State Relays Indoor Track and Field Championship Meet Saturday competing at the Wildcat-Giant Invitational hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.
South Adams High School athletes Maddie Moore and Allison Beitler each qualified in the 3,200-meter run Saturday. Nathan Rupp also qualified for the state championships in the 3,200 run earlier in the indoor season.
Kenney is runner-up
BLUFFTON - Two members of Portland's Judan Judo Club battled in national competition March 1 after four finished in first place in a Feb. 23 tournament in Bluffton.
Casey Kenney scored a runner-up finish March 1 at the Mid-West Championships in Chicago. Kelsi Bostic finished in fourth place.
Bostic, Adam Haffner, Andrew Toney and Logan Drumm all walked away with championships at the Bluffton tournament. Runners-up were Adam Wilhelm, Brianna Miller, Tasha Miller, Betsy Gagle and Jimmy Miller. Kelsi Brackman and Jamie Chan each took third place.[[In-content Ad]]
