Morgan's hat trick keys SA (10/06/2008)

Local roundup

BERNE - Another hat trick from senior Ashton Morgan led the Starfires to another win.

The South Adams high school girls soccer team rolled behind Morgan's three goals to an 8-1 victory over the visiting Manchester Squires.

Mackenzie Moser scored the first goal for SAHS (12-3) just two minutes into the game, and then the Morgan show took over. She scored unassisted five minutes after Moore, tallied her seconds goal midway through the first half on a pass form Chelsey Nevil and finished her hat trick off a Maddie Moore assist at the 15-minutes mark.

Moore added another assist, her third of the game, when Kinsey Lengerich scored to make it a 5-0 halftime lead. Moser and Lengerich each scored a second goal after the intermission, and Megan Myers added her first goal of the season.

The Starfires totaled 18 shots on goal compared to just one for Manchester.
