FORT RECOVERY — The Division III No. 10 Versailles Tigers handed the Fort Recovery High School volleyball team its fourth straight loss Thursday, 25-17, 25-20, 25-22.
Holly Brunswick finished with 11 digs, six points and five kills for the Indians, who are now 4-8 overall and 1-4 in the Midwest Athletic Conference. Abby Backs added 12 digs and three blocks, and Olivia Thien had six kills and six blocks.
Kayla Kahlig finished with six assists against Versailles (8-3, 4-1 MAC).
Fort Recovery dropped the junior varsity match 25-22, 20-25, 25-20 with Emily Link contributing 11 digs, nine assists and six points. Kelsey Fiely added 12 digs and five kills, Hannah Kaup scored 12 points and Rashell Muhlenkamp had seven kills for the Tribe (3-6).
MS football falls
FORT RECOVERY — Both teams scored in the second half Thursday as the Fort Recovery seventh grade football team tied the Parkway Panthers 6-6. The eighth graders fell 14-12.
Derian Scheffer tossed a 38-yard pass to Kyle Schroer in the third quarter of the seventh grade game. But Parkway pulled even in the fourth and the tied puts the Indians at 2-1-2 for the season.Cole Hull and Ryan Muhlenkamp scored on runs of 8 and 39 yards respectively for the Tribe eighth graders (1-4) in the first quarter.
The lead stood for most of the game, but Parkway rallied for the win with a pair of fourth-quarter TDs.
MS volleyball loses
VERSAILLES, Ohio — The Fort Recovery eighth grade volleyball team slipped to .500 Thursday with a 19-25, 25-23, 25-15 loss to the Versailles Tigers. The seventh grade squad fell 25-11, 25-19.
Tori Lennartz finished with 12 kills, two digs and a block for the eighth grade Indians (4-4). Rachel Pugh had 14 assists, and Michaela Fullenkamp and Haley Knapke each scored nine points.
Morgan Lennartz totaled seven points and two kills for the seventh graders (2-6). Trisha Thien and Kirsten Jutte added one kill apiece.[[In-content Ad]]
