No. 2 Flying Jets top Patriots in 3 (08/23/06)

MONROE - Taking down a second Adams County school in as many nights proved too tall a task.
After rolling to a three-game win over South Adams Monday, the Jay County volleyball team lost to Adams Central Tuesday. The Class 2A No. 10 Flying Jets returned the favor by topping the Patriots in three games, 25-15, 25-23, 25-17.
Junior Shelby Rines paced the Patriots (2-4) with team highs of 17 digs, nine points and two aces. She also had a couple of kills.
Theresa Reinhart, a senior, added seven digs, six points and three kills, and Sharon Dirksen and Sarah Mescher added three kills apiece. Erica Clark finished with 12 assists.
Junior varsity
The Patriots fell 25-15, 25-17 to Adams Central after scoring their first win a night earlier.
Kristi Morningstar had nine points and five assists for Jay County (1-5). Chelsea Grady came up with nine digs, and Amy Powell added four. Julie Alig and Lindsey Current each had two kills, and Kelci Reed added two points.
