CONVERSE - The Patriots and Golden Eagles finished the evening without a winner.
Jay County High School's wrestling team tied with host Oak Hill Tuesday, 31-31.
Zach Ainsworth came up with the key win of the evening for JCHS, surviving an overtime match at 171 pounds to win 5-3.
Caleb Culy scored the lone first-period pin for the Patriots, winning at 130 points in 1-minute, 38 seconds. Ben Theurer (145) finished off his match in 2:48, and Casey Kenney (125) scored a pin in 3:53.
Sha White (189) scored his victory by an 11-3 major decision.
Mason Murphy (145) and Joe Rasmussen (171) scored junior varsity wins for Jay County, which lost 18-12.
JC gymnasts win
STRAUGHN - Nadlie Runyon and Kristen Ainsworth each won an event Monday to lead the Jay County gymnastics team to a victory over Lincoln and host Tri.
The Patriots scored 91.95 points with Lincoln (85.05) second and Tri (82.05) third.
Runyon's victory came on the uneven bars with an 8.5. She was also the runner-up on the balance beam at 8.05, and finished second in the all-around with a score of 31.5.
Ainsworth took first place with an 8.45 on the vault. She also took second place with an 8.2 on the floor exercise.
Shelby Pryor won three junior varsity events for the Patriots, Lyndee Evans tied her in two and Lexie Rowles was first in the other.
Chiefs defeat Delta
The East Jay Middle School wrestling team dominated Delta Tuesday for a 61-27 victory.
Kyle Garringer scored the fastest pin for the Chiefs, winning the 175-pound match in just 18 seconds. Braden Smith-Lykins (95) and Michael Bruggeman (100) finished their matches in 35 and 37 seconds respectively.
Lucas Boyer (HWT), Brandon Poore (115) and Corey Bellis (105) each added first-period pins. Conner Ray (80), Skyler Sibery (85) and Jacob Schwieterman (110) also added pins, Cody Bellis (160) won by a major decision and Willie Skiver (125) won by decision.
