ROCKFORD, Ohio - The sequel did not go as well for the Tribe as the original.
Fort Recovery High School's volleyball team, which defeated Parkway Sept. 8 at the St. Marys Invitational, fell in three games Thursday to the Midwest Athletic Conference rival Panthers 25-21, 25-16, 25-16.
Nicole Pottkotter totaled 13 kills, five digs, four points and four blocks as the Indians slipped to 6-3 overall and 1-2 in the MAC with the road loss. Chelsey Leuthold added 13 points, five digs and two blocks.
Emily May had 14 digs, and Alyssa Brackman scored eight points.
Ericka Lennartz had six digs, five kills and four points as the FRHS junior varsity team (3-4, 1-2 MAC) topped the Panthers 25-22, 25-23. Abby Backs had 10 digs, Kayla Kahlig put up 10 assists, Nichole Kaiser scored nine points and Holly Thien had six kills.
Amy Link finished with four points, three blocks and two kills as the Indians (4-3) dropped the freshman match 25-21, 25-16. Emily Link added six assists and four points, Chelsea Pottkotter had four points and three kills and Heather Vaughn added three digs.
Starfire spikers fall
MONROEVILLE - The South Adams volleyball team lost 25-13, 25-19, 25-7 Thursday to the host Heritage Patriots.
Karen Bollenbacher finished with 11 digs, three kills and a block for the Starfires.
SAHS dropped the junior varsity match 25-12, 25-13 and the freshman match 16-25, 25-16, 15-11.
FR splits with Wildcats
FORT RECOVERY - The Fort Recovery seventh grade football team improved to 2-1 Thursday with a 6-0 victory over the Minster Wildcats. The eighth grade team (1-2) fell by a 14-0 score.
Ryan Muhlenkamp had the lone touchdown of the day for the Indians. He scored for the seventh graders on a 15-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Minster scored TDs in the first and fourth quarters in the eighth grade game.[[In-content Ad]]
