Patriot boys fall to 4-10

ANDERSON — Giving up a pair of second-half goals, the Jay County High School boys soccer team suffered its 10th defeat Thursday 3-1 to the host Liberty Christian Lions.
Liberty Christian took the lead for good on Jaron Sidwell goal just five minutes into the second half. David Crook added a goal with seven minutes left for the final margin.
Jay County fell behind eight minutes into the game when Clayton De Fur put the Lions (10-4-1) on the board. They pulled even on Aldo Castro’s goal with just under four minutes to go in the opening half, but could not find the net again.
The Patriots (4-10) took 11 shots on goal, including three by Colton McCombs.
Alex Dunn and Castro each added two shots on goal apiece, and Dillon Ainsworth finish with 11 saves.
The final game of the regular season for the Patriots is today at Oak Hill (11-4).[[In-content Ad]]
