Patriot spikers clobber Tigers (10/11/06)
JCHS volleyball
BLUFFTON - The Jay County volleyball team cruised over the Bluffton Tigers 25-21, 25-11, 25-16 Tuesday.
Theresa Reinhart led the defense with 15 digs for the Patriots, who improved to 12-17. She added 10 points, including four aces, and four kills.
Erica Clark had 13 assists and five blocks, and Sarah Westgerdes totaled five kills. Ashley Horn and Jessica Muhlenkamp each had 12 points, and Shelby Rines finished with 12 digs.
Junior varsity
Jay County controlled the final game to defeat the Tigers 25-15, 14-25, 15-4 Tuesday.
Kelci Reed posted a team-high nine digs. She also had six points, including an ace.
Kristi Morningstar finished with seven digs and four assists. Becky Muhlenkamp had 12 points, and Liz Walker matched Morningstar with four assists.
Julie Alig had a team-high five kills, and Lindsey Current added three kills.
Freshman
Becky Muhlenkamp and Kelsey Wood led the Patriots to a 25-12, 25-21 victory over Bluffton.
Muhlenkamp had eight digs and five points, and Wood totaled six kills and six digs. Liz Walker had 13 points, Ashley Langenkamp finished with four assists and Ashley Thigpen had two kills.[[In-content Ad]]
