MARION - They'll try to make it three.
Jay County High School's boys tennis team earned a 3-2 sectional semifinal victory Friday over the Mississinewa Indians. The Patriots advance to today's championship match against the host Giants at 10 a.m. as they try for their third straight sectional title and fifth in the last eight seasons.

The other two JCHS victories came in doubles action, with Heath Rigby and Thomas McCowan knocking off Brandon Schuler and Kenny Cassidy 6-2, 6-4 to improve to 14-6. The No. 2 doubles duo of Mark Alberson and Adam Horn fought off Zach Blackburn and Ryne Cunningham 6-3, 6-4 and are now 18-2 on the year.
In other action Friday Josh Ludy took just his fourth loss of the year, going down 6-0, 6-2 to Nathan Fleming at No. 1 singles.
At No. 2 doubles, Phil Powell (13-6) bounced back from a shutout first set to force a third before losing 6-0, 3-6, 6-4 against Cody Everhart.[[In-content Ad]]
