Patriots place 4th at Bellmont (04/17/06)

DECATUR — Jay County’s boys golf team cut six strokes from its opening 18-hole event, placing fourth out of nine teams at the Bellmont Invitational Saturday.
The Patriots posted a 379 at Grey Goose Golf Club in Decatur, finishing 12 ahead of fifth-place South Adams. Norwell was first with 320, followed by the host Braves (355) and Southern Wells (363).
Norwell carded the top three individual scores, with Michael Marlow grabbing medalist honors with a 5-over-par 76.
Senior Josh Hall paced Jay County, coming through with a solid back nine. After a 47 on the front nine, Hall notched five pars on the back, including one on the 240-yard, par-4 18th, to finish in eighth place with an 89.
All of freshman Adam Gray’s three even holes came on par-3s on the front nine as he finished 11th with a 91.
Gray Suman had all of his four pars on the back and finished at 94, and C.J. Comer added a 105. Kyle Cook scored a 118.[[In-content Ad]]
