Patriots rally to top Blackford
Jay County roundup
HARTFORD CITY — The Patriots’ chances of reaching the .500 mark didn’t look good after two innings. But they fought back to win in extra innings.
Jay County High School’s baseball team erased a four-run deficit Friday and went on to beat the host Blackford Bruins 9-6 in eight innings.
Tanner Reynolds hit a two-run home run for the Patriots, who took the lead with a four-run fourth inning, fell behind again and then pulled even to force extra innings. JCHS scored three times in the top of the eighth inning, and then Chaz Carroll shut down Blackford in the bottom of the frame to secure the win.
Kyle Selvey went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for the Patriots (10-10), and Jason Houston had two hits, a run and an RBI.
