Patton leads Monuments' win
Portland Junior League
Dakken Patton’s home run in the third inning gave Jay County Monuments a five-run lead as it held on for a 10-9 victory Monday in Portland Junior League Rookie baseball. In Monday’s other game All Circuit Electrical defeated Barnett’s Auto Parts 19-7.
Patton hit his second inside-the-park home run to cap a three run third inning for Monuments, and Williams scored four times in the top of the fourth inning to fall a run short. Landon Grimes and Grant Lewis also circled the bases on inside-the-park hits in the game.
Qadon Ferrell went 3-4 with four RBIs and two runs for Williams.
Crosby Heniser and Bailey Cox each finished with three hits, three runs and three RBIs to lead the All Circuit win. Isaac Braun totaled two hits, a run and three RBIs for Barnett’s.[[In-content Ad]]
