Poole leads Patriots (10/03/2008)
JCHS boys soccer
ANDERSON - Another strong challenge just gave the Patriots another chance to prove themselves.
Isaac Poole led the Jay County High School boys soccer team Thursday as it kept its undefeated record in tact with a 2-1 victory over host Liberty Christian Lions.
Poole scored his second goal of the game with 15 minutes remaining and the Patriots held Liberty Christian scoreless the rest of the way to improve to 13-0-1. Since tying Centerville 1-1 Sept. 20 they have faced several more formidable foes, but managed to defeat Marion 3-2 and Anderson Highland 4-2 before holding off the Lions.

The Patriots got on the board early Thursday as Poole scored the first of his two goals less than five minutes after the opening kickoff. The two-goal game gives him 18 scores on the year, just two behind team leader Brad Horn.
Liberty Christian tied the score 17:28 into the second half on a penalty kick only to have Poole return the lead to JCHS eight minutes later.
Both teams finished with eight shots on goal as Poole and Dunn each took two for the Patriots. Adam Daniels recorded seven saves.
Jay County will try to complete the regular season undefeated Monday when it hosts Lakeview Christian.
