Redskins eliminate Fort

Local roundup

MINSTER, Ohio — The Indians have won more games this season than they have in the last decade. But none of those victories have come against St. Henry.
Fort Recovery High School’s baseball team suffered its third loss of the season to the Division IV No. 3 Redskins on Wednesday, falling 6-2 in the sectional championship game at Minster.
St. Henry (22-5) scored twice in the first inning and twice in the third against the Indians, whose 15 wins are their most since going 18-8 2001. FRHS closed to within 4-2, but the Redskins added single runs in the fifth and sixth innings for the final margin.
Jackson Hobbs suffered the loss, although just two of the six runs against him were earned.
Blake Boughman and Jacob Muhlenkamp each finished 2-for-4 with a run for the Tribe.

SA blasts Indians
BERNE — The South Adams baseball team picked up its second straight five-inning victory Wednesday, rolling over the visiting Union City Indians 15-2.
The Starfires (15-11), who topped Jay County 11-1 Tuesday, led 5-2 against Union City before racking up 10 runs in the fourth inning. Collin Affolder tossed a scoreless fifth inning to secure the win.
Shea Pyle was a perfect 3-for-3 with SAHS with three RBIs and two runs. Corey Seffernick and Eric Pimentel each hit home runs, with Seffernick drive in two runs and scoring twice. Chandler Ingle scored three times.
Blake Fox earned the victory for the Starfires, allowing two runs — one earned — on six hits in four innings. He struck out three batters.

Pearson drives in 6
Dusty Pearson played his clean-up role perfectly Wednesday, leading All Circuit Electric to an 11-1 victory over Fisher Meats in Portland Junior League Rookie baseball. Barnett’s Auto Parts won the night’s second game 12-4 over Williams Auto Parts.
Pearson drove in six runs from his No. 4 spot in the lineup with two triples and a double. He also scored three times, and Timo Minnich added three hits, two RBIs and two runs.
Daydrick Retz, Landon Garringer and Dyllan Garringer each had three hits for Barnett’s. Max LeMaster hit and inside-the-park home run.
Justin Timmerman singled and scored the lone run for Fishers, and Jayden Hartzell had an inside-the-park home for Williams.[[In-content Ad]]
