The Rockets opened their home season with a pair of losses Saturday to the Jackers.
They defended their home field Sunday against the Marlins.
After being swept by the Fort Wayne Jackers 6-3 and 4-3, the Portland Rockets turned things around, beating the Fort Wayne Marlins 4-1 and 11-4 at Runkle-Miller Field.
Tyler Reynolds struck out 12 Marlins and allowed just three hits to earn the complete-game win in the opener.
Portland’s bats heated up in the game two, as Justin Miller and Kyle Markle each had two hits. Markle, a Celina product, drove in five runs in the contest.
Travis Gray earned the win for the Rockets.
Mitch Waters and Dalton Tinsley led the offense with four hits each, including a two-run home run by Waters in game one Saturday.
Portland (2-2) loaded the bases twice in the 6-3 loss to the Jackers, who entered Saturday with an unblemished 5-0 record.
South Adams High School graduate Dan Bollenbacher took the loss in game two, giving up four unearned runs in the second inning.[[In-content Ad]]
