SA girls soccer defeats Bellmont (08/22/07)

BERNE - The Squaws scored, but not until the game was well in South Adams' hands.
The Starfire girls soccer team held the visiting Bellmont Squaws scoreless for the first 79-minutes, 19 seconds in a 3-1 victory Tuesday night.
Emily Steiner got South Adams going in the first half, scoring the first goal of the game at the 29:16 mark. Mackenzie Moser added a tally 20 minutes later for a 2-0 Starfire lead at the intermission.
Less than eight minutes into the second half Ashton Morgan scored for a 3-0 advantage which stood until Bellmont's Kelsey Sanderson picked up the Squaws' lone goal with just 41 seconds left on the clock. SAHS limited Bellmont to just six shots on goal.
Spikers fall in three
BERNE - The Starfire volleyball team had little answer for the Eastbrook Panthers Tuesday night, losing in three quick games 25-6, 25-5, 25-9.
Jacie Yoder managed six assists, two digs and one ace. Karen Bollenbacher finished with five kills, and Hali Feaster had five digs.
South Adams also lost the junior varsity match, 25-2, 25-16.[[In-content Ad]]
