Local roundup

FORT WAYNE — A pair of South Adams High School graduates led the Portland Rockets to a 2-0 victory Sunday over the Fort Wayne Jackers to salvage their second doubleheader split in as many days.
After dropping the first game 4-1, 2008 SAHS graduate Dan Bollenbacher retired the 13 of the first 15 batters he faced in game two.
The Rockets (6-6) scored one run in the game’s first inning thanks to an RBI groundout by Cody Krumlauf. Portland added an insurance run in the seventh on an RBI single with bases loaded by Collin Affolder, a 2014 SAHS grad.
Fort Wayne (10-2) threatened in the fifth with two on and no out, but the Portland defense preserved the shutout.
In game one, the Jackers out-hit the Rockets 12-11, in the 4-1 win. Waters took the loss for Portland.
Billy Geeslin led the Rockets with six hits on the weekend, which included a split Saturday with Northeast Kekionga. Dalton Tinsley and Alex Delk each contributed five hits over the two days.
