Tribe outlasts Cards
FORT RECOVERY — The Indians finally have a conference victory.
The Fort Recovery girls basketball team outlasted New Bremen on Monday with a 70-66 four-overtime win over the Cardinals.
The Indians are now an even .500 (8-8) on the season and are 1-6 in the Midwest Athletic Conference.
With the score tied at 60 entering the fourth overtime, New Bremen hit a 3-pointer to take the lead, and following back-to-back turnovers, FRHS junior Tori Lennartz knotted the score again on three of her game-high 25 points.
She then hit a pair of free throws and assisted on a Caley Schoenherr bucket for a 67-63 FRHS lead. The Cardinals hit another trey with 1:18 left to get within one, but the Indians padded their lead with free throws in the final 20 seconds to hang on.[[In-content Ad]]
