Siefring leads Tribe in loss

VERSAILLES, Ohio — The Versailles Tigers defeated the Fort Recovery High School volleyball team Thursday, 25-16, 25-10, 25-19.
Kendra Siefring led the Indians with eight kills, while Devin Post added four.
Tori Lennartz had a team-high five digs, Caley Shoenherr added five, and Cassidy Rammel recorded two blocks. Sierra Pugh tallied two aces for the Tribe.
In junior varsity action, the Tigers topped the Tribe 25-9, 25-12. Kristen Jutte led the Indians with three kills and three assists, and Rachel Kaup added five digs.
FRMS spikers split
FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery Middle School volleyball teams split its matches with the Coldwater Cavaliers on Thursday.
The seventh grade Indians defeated Coldwater 25-18, 27-27. The Tribe eighth graders fell 25-27, 25-16, 25-6.
Cassidy Martin recorded team-highs in service points (13) and aces (seven) for the Fort Recovery seventh graders. Hanna Knapke led the Tribe with six kills and five digs, and Madison Rammel added six assists.
Grace Thien led the Tribe eighth graders with 10 points and four aces, while Carley Stone had a team-high six kills. Madison Grover recorded eight assists and Kiah Wendel added eight digs.
East Jay football wins
MUNCIE — The East Jay Middle School eighth grade football team defeated the Muncie Northside Titans on Thursday, 18-14.
The seventh grade Chiefs fell to the Titans, 16-14.
The EJMS eighth grade team scored the game-winning touchdown in the final minute after a key fourth-down conversion by Ethan Myers. Noah Hummel scored on a 6-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, and Caden Stant scored on a 40-yard pass from Ethan Myers.
Daniel Ostrowski rushed for 50 yards and two TDs to lead the East Jay seventh graders. Trey Castillo added 20 yards and a two-point conversion.
Thomas Hemmelgarn, Troy Frazier, Caleb Webster and Parker Grimes all had tackles for loss, and Grimes also added a 55-yard kickoff return.[[In-content Ad]]
