GENEVA — The Starfires were pinning machines Thursday.
South Adams’ middle school wrestling team scored each of its 10 victories by pin in a 60-12 victory over East Jay.
Gabe Sprunger (80) earned the fastest of those pins, winning the opening match of the night in just 25 seconds. Also finishing their matches in less than one minute were Braden Baer (105), John Striker (120), Roman Smith (125), Sam Heckard (135), Nick Taylor (145) and Stephen Horton (160).
Other pins came from Josh Ehr (95), Cajon Dailey (100) and Stuart Poulson (110).
Jake Boyer (175) earned East Jay’s lone pin of the night.
HC slams Eagles
HARTFORD CITY — West Jay Middle School’s wrestling team managed three wins in a 48-18 loss to Hartford City Thursday.
Keri VanSkyock (160) turned in the quickest of West Jay’s three pins, winning in 50 seconds. Amber McCowan (110) and Chris Penrod (95) added pins in 2:15 and 2:38 respectively.[[In-content Ad]]
