South Adams spikers fall in 3

Volleyball roundup

LEO — The Starfires showed improvement throughout their match, but were still unable to win a game.
The South Adams High School volleyball team suffered a 25-12, 25-14, 25-21 loss to the Leo Lions.
Alyssa Bluhm set the pace for the Starfires with a team-high six blocks. She also had six digs and three kills.
Cady Farlow finished with nine kills. Hannah Mitchel came up with eight digs, and Lauren Smith put up six assists.
South Adams lost the junior varsity match 25-12, 25-9 and dropped the freshman match in two games as well.
Morgan Alberson had five kills and four assists to lead the South Adams eighth grade team to a 25-13, 25-23 win over Leo. The seventh graders lost, 20-25, 25-19, 15-8.

WJ takes sixth, seventh
All three matches between East Jay and West Jay middle schools went the distance Tuesday. West Jay’s seventh and sixth graders posted victories by scores of 23-25, 25-16, 15-9 and 18-25, 25-12, 15-14 respectively while EJMS won 25-14, 24-25, 15-3 in the eighth grade match.

Kady Finnerty and Kaelyn Weaver each totaled 12 service points in the win for the seventh grade Eagles. Weaver scored seven of her points in the first game, and Finnerty had seven in the second.
Lizzy Schoenlein finished with 15 assists, 11 service points and five aces to lead the East Jay eighth graders (5-0). Audrey Shreve also had 11 service points, and Britlyn Dues notched six kills.
Kaylee Inman finished with seven points, all on aces, for the EJMS seventh graders (1-4), and Alli Campbell scored six points for the West Jay eighth grade team.
Fort seventh wins
ROCKFORD, Ohio — The Fort Recovery seventh grade volleyball team picked up its first Midwest Athletic Conference win of the year Tuesday by a 25-17, 25-21 score over the host Parkway Panthers. The eighth graders lost, 25-6, 25-15.
Madi Grove had a strong service game to lead the seventh grade Indians (4-2, 1-2 MAC) as she totaled 10 points to go along with four assists. Carley Stone had three blocks, three service points and two kills.
Devin Post paced the eighth grade squad (2-4, 0-3 MAC) with four digs, three kills and two assists. Lexi Sheffer totaled four service points and two kills.[[In-content Ad]]
