Squaws get past Patriots

DECATUR - The Patriots rallied to take the lead. They just couldn't hold on.
Jay County High School's softball team slipped back to .500 Friday with a 4-3 loss to the host Bellmont Squaws.
Trailing 2-0 after the first inning, the Patriots (6-6) event the score in the fifth and scored in the top of the seventh to take the lead. But Bellmont took advantage of its final at bat, pushing across two runs in the bottom of the seventh to swipe the win.
Brittney Watson took the tough-luck loss, giving up four runs - two earned - on six hits and four walks. She struck out three batters.
Brittany Mann went 2-for-3 with a RBI, and Danielle Wellman had two hits and a run. Watson hit a solo home run.[[In-content Ad]]
