Starfire netters top Winchester

WINCHESTER — With a singles sweep to lead the way, the South Adams High School boys tennis team won its first match of the season Tuesday 4-1 over Winchester.
The No. 2 doubles duo of Derek Schwartz and Scott Hoeppner joined the singles players in victory, rolling to their win by a 6-0, 6-1 score. Mark Muselman won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles, and Kegan Sprunger picked up a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles.
Alex Huber was victorious in his No. 1 singles match 7-5.
Reid Zurcher and Ian Frank lost 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.
The Starfires also won the junior varsity match 5-1, with William Hicks contributing an 8-1 victory.


CC second at Snider
FORT WAYNE — Eric Isch and Hannah Moore led the cross country teams to a runner-up finish Tuesday at the Snider Hokum Karem.
South Adams turned in a total time of 1 hour, 51 minutes, 43 seconds at the event in which male and female teammates alternated miles. Northridge won in 1:51:59.
Isch and Moore had the No. 2 time overall, finishing in 27 minutes, 45 seconds. Brody Shane and Sawyer Shane were ninth in 28:26.[[In-content Ad]]
