Stars fall to Parkway

The Parkway Panthers scored all of their runs in the first inning as they knocked off the South Adams baseball team 5-3 Monday.

Each of the top six hitters in the Parkway order garnered at least one hit in the contest. The Starfires went scoreless for the first six innings before their comeback try fell short in the seventh.

Kyle Neuenschwander took the defeat as he lasted just 11/3 innings, allowing five runs — four earned — on four hits. He walked one and struck out one.

Tyler Sprunger struck out two and walked two, and gave up just five hits in 52/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Aaron Givens accounted for all of South Adams’ runs, ripping a three-run homer in the final frame. It was his second hit of the game.

Kyle White also had a pair of hits and scored once, and Justin Caffee added a hit and a run.
