Starfires even record vs. Leo (08\31/07)

BERNE - The Starfires fought through an 0-2-2 start. Now they have two wins in two days.
South Adams High School's boys soccer team evened its record Thursday, knocking off the Leo Lions 2-1 for the first time in school history.
Senior Adam McLaughlin, who had four goals and two assists in Wednesday's 10-0 destruction of Garrett, scored both Starfire goals against Leo. His two tallies came in the first half, and Cody Thomas of the Lions scored for the final margin 17:30 into the second half.
Tyler Sprunger, the South Adams goalie, finished with 10 saves.
Golfers fall to two
LEO - Amber Melick was the only Starfire to post a score in the 50s Thursday as the girls golf team finished with a 253. South Adams was third at the three-team match at Cedar Creek Golf Club, finishing behind the host Leo Lions (188) and Southern Wells (224).
Melick finished with a 52 to lead SAHS, and Alyssa Neuenschwander was next on the team at 61. Tricia Crider had a 65, Kara Lehman capped the SAHS total at 75, and Sarah Muselman shot 94.
Lions defeat netters
LEO - South Adams' boys tennis team couldn't take any momentum from its first win Wednesday, falling 5-0 Thursday to the Leo Lions.
Brett Wagner and Landyn Waugh won seven games in the No. 1 and 3 singles matches respectively for the closest matches of the night. Wagner fell 6-2, 7-5 to Taylor Puhfal, and Waugh lost 7-6 (7-2), 6-1 against Zachary Schumacher.
In No. 2 singles action Chase Ingle fell 6-3, 6-3 to Aaron Crow.
Kegan Sprunger and Kyle Schmidt lost 6-0, 6-1 to Justin Branscomb and Jordan Bowerman at No. 1 doubles, and Daniel Dynes and Jacob Smith took a 6-1, 6-0 defeat against Drew Giant and Josh Steury in the No. 2 doubles match.
