SA loses to Squaws

South Adams’ softball team came up with some offense, but it was too little, too late in a 5-2 loss to Bellmont Saturday.

The Starfires trailed 3-0, but pulled within a run by scoring two in the top of the sixth inning. However, the Squaws bounced right back with two runs in the bottom of the frame and went on to the win.

Andrea Kaehr and Candice Miller each had two hits and a run scored for South Adams. Lee Ann Snyder also had two hits, and Jessica Smith added a hit and an RBI.

Mickayla Smith took the loss, allowing five runs — one earned — on five hits in six innings. She walked three and struck out two.
