Stars defeat a pair
SAHS roundup
WARREN - Tricia Crider shared medalist honors Thursday as she led the South Adams High School girls golf team to wins over host Southern Wells and Leo.
The Starfires finished at 210 at Dogwood Glen, edging Leo by two strokes. Southern Wells scored 232.
After bogeys on each of the first two holes Crider came up big with a birdie on the 138-yard, par-3 third. She added pars on the fourth and seventh holes en route to sharing to top score of 50 with Emily Barker of Leo.
Jansen Yoder parred the third hole and added five bogeys for a 51. Grace Dobler had one par and two bogeys for a 54, and Kaytlyn Pierce added a par and a bogey to shoot 55.
Kristen Lehman followed with a 57, and Sarah Muselman shot 61.
Leo tops boys soccer
BERNE - The Starfires fell behind early and never recovered Thursday in a 7-1 loss to the visiting Leo Lions.
South Adams gave up three goals in the first 10 minutes and trailed 6-0 at halftime. Leo scored four of its goals on headers.
Zach Sharp got the Starfires on the board in the second half off of an assist from T.J. Burnfield.
T.J. Moser finished with eight saves for SAHS.[[In-content Ad]]
