South Adams’ girls swim team managed just two wins. The short-handed boys team pulled off five, and the result was still almost identical.

The girls team suffered an 89-87 loss to Bellmont Thursday, and the boys team dropped an 88-82 decision.

Heath Lehman earned two of the three individual wins for the Starfires, and was a member of the first-place 200-yard medley relay team.

His victory in the 200-yard freestyle came by nearly eight seconds with a time of 2:05.39.

He finished almost a minute ahead of teammate Drew Dull in winning the 500-yard freestyle in 6:35.16.

He teamed with Andy Lehman, Carson Sprunger and Carl Masters to earn the relay win in 2:00.44.

The girls team needed to take first and second in the final relay to pull off the team victory, but could not keep pace. The team of Chelsea Yoder, Margaret Beymer, Haleigh Lehman and Talitha Maven placed first in 4:14.20, but the other two Starfire relay teams in the event were third and fifth.

The only other victory for South Adams came from Yoder in the 500-yard freestyle in 6:11.23.
