Steffen, Starfires swim by Cadets

BERNE — David Steffen earned a pair of individual victories as the South Adams High School boys swim team defeated Concordia 97-69 Thursday.
The Starfire girls fell to the Cadets 100-60.
Steffen swam to wins in the 100-yard freestyle and 200 individual medley.
Daniel Burson added a victory in the 200 freestyle, and Daniel Steffen placed first in the 100 breaststroke.
Chris Inniger also picked up an individual victory in the 500 freestyle, and Xavier Rupp was uncontested in diving.
Daniel Steffen, Inniger and Burson teamed with Drew Lefever to win the 200 freestyle relay.
On the girls’ side, Cady Farlow won the 200 and 500 freestyle, Riley Thompson placed first in the 100 butterfly and Victoria Richardson earned a victory in the 100 breaststroke.
The trio joined Ellie Kaverman to win the 200 freestyle relay.

Tribe, Raiders split
RUSSIA, Ohio — The Fort Recovery Middle School seventh and eighth grade girls basketball teams split Thursday with Russia.
The Tribe eighth graders won 38-26, and the seventh grade Indians fell 44-10.
Claire Metzger scored nine points to lead the Fort Recovery eighth graders. Carley Stone chipped in eight, and Grace Thien scored six.
Elise Gehle led the seventh graders with five points, and Hannah Knapke scored three.

Tribe falls to Cavs
COLDWATER, Ohio — Fort Recovery’s seventh and eighth grade boys both lost Thursday to Coldwater.
The Fort Recovery eighth graders lost 32-21, and the Coldwater seventh graders edged the Indians 28-27.
Payton Jutte scored in double figures to lead the seventh grade Indians in the loss to the Cavs.
He tallied 10 points, and Derek Siefring netted seven. Kody Shinaberry added six points.
Ethan Schoen scored a team-high seven points for the FRMS eighth graders, and Evan Post added six points[[In-content Ad]]
