Stevens drives in five

Michael Stevens drove in five runs as PG-14 routed Minnich Architecture and Construction 14-4 in the Willie Mays championship game.
Also Thursday, Masonic Lodge pounded Indoor Comfort by Vance 15-4 to claim the girl’s Major title.
Stevens drew two bases-loaded walks and drove in three on a hit in the third inning to collect his five RBIs. He also scored twice as PG-14 overpowered its opponent.
PG-14 scored seven runs in the second and added another five in the third.
Mitchell Langenkamp and Ryan Schlechty both had two hits, three runs and an RBI for PG-14.
Matt Minnich scored a run and drove one in to lead Minnich’s in the loss.
In the girl’s Majors championship, the Masonic Lodge scored seven runs in the second and another five in the third.
Leadoff hitter Kelsey DeVoe powered the Lodge with three hits, three runs and two batted in.
Olivia Braun pounded out two hits and two RBIs for Indoor Comfort.

Rookie champs
Justice Day and Blake Caldwell each drove in six runs as they led their teams to the Rookie League championships Tuesday night.

In the girls championship, Persimmon Ridge one-hit First Merchants Bank in a 15-0 victory.
Day led Persimmon Ridge with six RBIs, including an inside-the-park home run as every player on the roster recorded a hit. Aubrie Schwieterman and Mariah Gross each drove in three runs.
Shea Bailey recorded the lone hit for First Merchants.
In the boys championship, Pak-A-Sak rallied in the final inning to beat All Circuit Electric 16-14.
Jerry Stone hit an inside-the-park grand slam to give Pak-A-Sak the lead as the game hit the time limit. Caldwell added six RBIs and Rylee Johnson hit two inside-the-parkers to lift the team to victory.
Matthias Rowe had four RBIs for All Circuit in the defeat.

Thunder wins
The Thunder spread the ball around as three different players scored in a 3-1 victory over the Hurricanes in West Jay Community Center soccer.
Rydr Barger, Ethan Johnson and Emily Phelps all netted goals for the Thunder (3-1).
Pacie Denney scored the lone goal for the Hurricanes (1-3).[[In-content Ad]]
