Tribe girls beat up Parkway (11/28/07)

ROCKFORD, Ohio - Fort Recovery Middle School's girls basketball teams each improved to 2-0 Tuesday with wins over the Parkway Panthers.
Both Indian teams clobbered Parkway, the eighth-graders 48-20 and the seventh-graders 33-11.
Fort Recovery's eighth-grade team trailed by a point after the opening quarter, but outscored the Panthers 40-11 the rest of the way. Kelly Nietfeld finished with a double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds, and Kylie Kahlig had a team-best 11 points. Karissa Will scored eight points, and Kara Faller had seven rebounds.
The Indian seventh-graders had just a four-point lead at the half before scoring 24 points after the break. Kelsy Fiely had nine points and seven rebounds in the win, and Chelsea Pottkotter turned in nine points and six boards.

FORT RECOVERY - The Fort Recovery seventh-grade boys basketball team led most of the way only to have the visiting Parkway Panthers pull even at the end of regulation and hand it a 42-40 overtime defeat.

Trent Kaiser scored 15 points for the seventh graders, who had double-digit leads at the end of each of the first three quarters. Parkway outscored them 13-4 in the fourth to pull even and then 5-3 in the extra session. Keith Fortkamp added seven points in the loss.
Fort Recovery's eighth grade team trailed by just three heading into the fourth quarter, but was outscored 11-2 to fall to the 12-point loss. Jared Kahlig finished with 12 points, and Jason Pottkotter followed with nine.
Starfires stumble
BLUFFTON - South Adams' seventh grade boys basketball team suffered a 30-21 defeat Monday against the Bluffton Tigers.
Blake Fox paced the Starfires with nine points. Chase Mosser scored six points, and Evan Liechty had four.[[In-content Ad]]
