Tribe rallies, but falls to Marion Local (04/30/08)

MARIA STEIN, Ohio - The Fort Recovery High School baseball team scored four times despite only a pair of hits, but still fell 5-4 to the host Marion Local Flyers.
After falling behind 4-0 through two innings, the Tribe bounced back with three runs in the top of the third to close the gap and another in the top of the fourth to tie the game.
But Marion Local scored once in the bottom of the fourth and held Fort Recovery scoreless the rest of the way.
Greg Kahlig took the loss, giving up five runs - three earned - on four hits and two walks in six innings. He stuck out 10 batters.
Kahlig also doubled, and Curt Heitkamp had the only other hit for the Indians.
It was Fort Recovery's second straight one-run loss in the Midwest Athletic Conference, following a 3-2 defeat Thursday at St. Henry. The Tribe is 5-6 overall, and 0-4 in the MAC.
Four from Judan are 1st
NEW CASTLE - Four athletes from Judan Judo in Portland finished in first place April 20 at the Trojan Warrior Classic Tournament.
Kelsi Bostic, Adam Haffner, Amanda Buell and Jamie Chan each took the title in their division. Adam Wilhelm, Chloe Trissel, Ryan Bennett, Drake Meska, Nathan Daniels, Logan Drumm and Nathan Fodrea all finished in second place.[[In-content Ad]]
