Vanover-Shreve set to compete

Michael Vanover-Shreve will compete in the junior high division of the National High School Rodeo Association finals.

Vanover-Shreve, a sixth grader at East Jay Middle School, will represent Indiana at the event, competing in bull riding, team roping and breakaway roping. The national rodeo, which takes place June 27 through July 3 in New Mexico, will include more than 1,000 competitors from the United States, Canada and Australia.

Keen leads Graphic

Richie Keen powered Graphic Printing Tuesday in a 13-4 victory over Portland Moose in Portland Junior League Sandy Koufax baseball.

On June 10 Fisher Packing defeated Graphic 8-6.

Richie Keen powered the Graphic win, smacking a home run and finishing with two runs and two RBIs. Andrew Ferguson had a double, three RBIs and two runs.

Chaz Carroll paced Moose with a double and two runs.

Ethan Bost hit a solo home run in the fourth inning and also drove in two runs in the sixth. Sean Winget doubled, scored twice and drove in two runs.
