Anne Vormohr broke two pool records Thursday as Jay County avenged a loss this season by beating the Wells Community Swim Team 693-456.
Vormohr’s backstroke time of 32.54 was just enough to break her own record of 32.60 in the girl’s 13-14 age bracket.
She also shaved nearly a second off of the individual medley time set by her sister Cori in 2005, finishing that race in 2:37.40 to beat the standing 2:38.26.
Vormohr was one of 10 triple event winners for Jay, which took 60 of 80 events to claim the victory. The swim team improved to 9-1, with its only loss being a 44-point defeat to Wells Community earlier this year.
Jay County boasted ten triple event winners on the night.
The Jay girls continued their dominance of the year in the 11-12, 13-14 and 15 and over age groups.
Alex Bader and Sydney Mathias combined to sweep the 11-12 group, with Bader winning the butterfly, medley and breastroke.
Mathias took the long free, backstroke and short free.
In the 13-14, Sophie Bader won the long free, butterfly and breastroke while Vormohr rounded out the division taking the backstroke, medley and short free.
And in the 15 and over, Eme Miller and Mary Hudson clinched the group, with Miller winning the short and long free and backstroke and Hudson taking the butterfly, medley and breastroke.
Other triple event winners on the night were Eliza Bader, 8 and under, long free, butterfly and medley; Tayler Smeltzer, 9-10 boys, butterfly, backstroke and medley; Levi Hummel, 13-14 boys, long free, backstroke, breaststroke; and Neal Fennig, 15 and over boys, long free, backstroke, medley.
Double event winners were Elizabeth McDowell, Quin Blakely, Ian Reynolds, Sok Vormohr and Alex Sutton.
Ashlyn Dow, Leah Hummel, Kearsten Myers and Christian Vormohr rounded out the Jay County effort by winning single events.[[In-content Ad]]
