JCHS Winter Swim
NEW CASTLE — Annie Vormohr picked up four victories to lead the Jay County Winter Swim team at the New Castle Winter Invitational Sunday.
Vormohr was one of four Jay County swimmers to earn high-point honors as she led the 8-and-younger girls division. Joining her were her brother and sister, Sok and Cori Vormohr, and Justin Klopp.
Annie Vormohr’s three victories came in the 100-yard individual medley, the 25 freestyle, the 50 backstroke and the 50 butterfly. She added a second-place effort in the 50 freestyle.
Sok Vormohr won three events to take the 8-and-younger boys high-point title. He was first in the 25 butterfly, 25 freestyle and 50 backstroke while adding two runner-up efforts.
Klopp posted three victories to earn the most points in the 13-and-older boys division. He won the 50 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley, and finished second twice.
Cori Vormohr took high-point honors for the 13-and-older girls by winning the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly. She was second in a pair of events and third in one.
Michael Long earned two wins for Jay County, taking the 10-and-younger girls 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly. Mitchell Kaverman was first in the 10-and-younger boys 100 breaststroke, and Ashton Klopp to the 8-and-younger girls 25 butterfly.
Adding other top-three efforts for the team were Ashton Klopp, Kaverman, Rylee Clemmons, Danny Mart and Wiley Young.[[In-content Ad]]
