Vormohr wins 2 events (05/06/05)
DUNKIRK — Cori Vormohr earned two of East Jay’s three wins at the West Jay Relays Thursday. Kinsey Lengerich had two wins for South Adams, and Lindsey Current posted a pair of fourth-place finishes to lead the host Eagles.
Vormohr dominated the discus competition. She won by more than 10 feet with a toss of 90 feet, five inches.
She had a much closer battle in the shot put, where she placed first by just one-half inch over Adams Central’s Kim Foreman at 28 feet, nine inches.
East Jay’s other victory came in the distance medley. The team of Katie Butcher, Erika Butcher, Michelle Landfair and Pazia Speed won by nearly 10 seconds in 8-minutes, 5.91 seconds.
Lengerich led South Adams as she edged East Jay’s Kaelee Keller in the 100-meter dash in 13.86 seconds. She also won the high jump by nearly half a foot with a leap of five feet even.
Current was fourth for West Jay in the high jump at four feet, five inches. She was also fourth in the long jump at 12 feet, 53/4 inches.[[In-content Ad]]
