SALA BAGANZA, Italy - Mitch Waters picked up his fifth win of the season Saturday, pitching the Sala Bangaza Baseball Club to a 5-2 victory over Urbe Roma.
Waters, a 2002 Jay County High School graduate, went the distance in the win, striking out a season-high 14 batters. Both runs against him were unearned, and he gave up a walk and eight hits.
He leads Sala Banganza in victories this season and has a 1.64 ERA in 10 starts. He has thrown six complete games and struck out 73 batters in 77 innings.

WINONA LAKE - The Portland Rockets only managed to get five innings of a scheduled double-header in Saturday, falling 2-0 to the host Warsaw Indians.
South Adams High School graduate Dan Bollenbacher took the loss, despite allowing just one earned run. He struck out seven batters in five innings.
Portland managed just two hits in the rain-shortened defeat, both of which came from Jay County graduate Thomas McCowan.[[In-content Ad]]
