West Jay grapplers take another vs. Warriors (02/16/05)

GASTON — The West Jay wrestling team improved its record to 4-1 Tuesday with a 42-33 victory over the Wes-Del Warriors.
The Eagles dominated the upper weight classes, winning four of those five matches. Alan Brown won at 135 pounds, and Sha White (160), Andrew Lancaster (160) and Travis Garringer (HVY) added consecutive victories.
Also coming up with victories were Drake Meska (95), Seth Drumm (100) and Jerid Conatser (110).
Fort tickets
Tickets for Fort Recovery’s girls sectional championship game against Minster Saturday will go on sale Thursday.
They will be sold in the high school office Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Advance tickets are $4 for students and $5 for adults. All tickets at the door will be $5.
Tickets to Fort Recovery’s boys basketball game Friday at Lima Central Catholic will be on sale during the same times.
Advance tickets for the boys game are $3 for students and $5 for adults. All tickets at the door will be $6.
Meet canceled
Jay County’s gymnastics meet which was scheduled for tonight against Richmond has been canceled. It will not be rescheduled.
Jay needs coach
Jay County High School is accepting applications for the position of varsity volleyball coach.

Umpire classes
The Midwestern Athletic Conference will host a softball and baseball umpiring class next month.
The class will be held at the Education Complex in Celina, Ohio Feb. 21 from 6 to 8:45 p.m. Those who pass the class can become licensed by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
