The Hoosier-Buckeye Wrestling Clinic for fourth through sixth graders has been scheduled for next month.
The seven-day clinic held at East Jay Middle School will begin Monday, Nov. 17. It will be run by the East Jay and West Jay middle school wrestling coaches as well as former Jay County High School wrestlers.
The registration fee is $20 per athlete, and $15 for each additional athlete in the same family. The fee includes a T-shirt, handbook and a party at the end of the clinic.
Information about the clinic is available at all of the JCHS elementary schools.
Baseball tryouts
The D.C. Lightning baseball team for 10-year-olds is preparing for the 2004 season.
The team plays various area teams, as well as some from Kentucky and Ohio. Games are played under high school rules.

Hockey league
The Wings-n-Wheels roller hockey league in Celina, Ohio is preparing for its third season.
The program is divided into two parts. There is a four-week camp for beginners and advanced players, and a 12-week regular season. The camp begins Dec. 2, and the regular season will start December 29.
The league is open to boys and girls in grades kindergarten through 12. There will also be an adult league for those ages 16-and-older this year.
Games are played at The Zone, which is located inside the Junior Fair Building at the Mercer Country Fairgrounds.
There will be an information meeting at the Junior Fair Building Monday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. Anyone who is interested can also call league president Bob Crouch at (419) 942-1280 or (419) 586-5855, or e-mail [email protected].
Turkey chase
Wayne and Union County Easter Seals will host at turkey chase Saturday, Nov. 15. The event will include a 7k road race, a 2 1/2 mile historic walk, a one-mile fun run and a kiddie run.
Registration will begin at 11 a.m. on the day of the event in the Centerville High School auxiliary gym west of the football field. The kiddie run will start at noon with the fun run at 12:30 p.m. and the 7K at 1 p.m.
The entry fee for those for those who sign up by Nov. 12 is $14 for the 7K, $14 for the walk and $2 for the fun run. There is no entry fee for the kiddie run.
