Yorktown storms past Patriots

Jay County roundup

As the rain drizzled down from the sky, the Tigers thundered away at the goal as visiting Yorktown handed the Jay County High School girls soccer team a 10-0 defeat.

The Tigers totaled 36 shots as they handed Jay County its most lop-sided loss of the season in its final home game. The Patriots (3-7), who play four times on the road before heading to the Marion sectional, had not lost by more than five in their previous nine games.

Mollie May recorded 16 saves for JCHS, and LeAnn Horn added 10.
