Young, Holcomb win for Jay Co. (02/29/08)

Jay County's middle school boys swim team dropped a 177-115 decision Thursday to the visiting Bluffton Tigers. The team managed just a pair of victories in the defeat, one each from Wiley Young and Lucas Holcomb.
The duo combined for a one-two finish in the 50-yard butterfly, with Young turning in a solid win in 30.7 seconds. Holcomb followed in second place at 34.44.
Holcomb added a victory by more than four seconds in the 100 backstroke, finishing with a time of 1:15.86. Young was also second in the 100 individual medley.
Skyler Kirby (diving), Michael Bruggeman (50 free) and Alex Sutton (100 breaststroke) also added runner-up finishes.
