Indians are playoff bound
FORT RECOVERY — For the first time in program history, the Indians are headed to the playoffs.
The Fort Recovery High School football team finished fifth in the final Division VII Region 26 computer rankings to secure a berth in the postseason.
The top eight teams in each region earn playoff berths.
Fort Recovery (6-4) will travel to Fort Loramie to take on the fourth-seeded Redskins (7-3) at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The winner will advance to play the victor between top-seeded defending Division VII state champion Marion Local (10-0) and eighth-seeded North Lewisburg Triad (6-4).
In the bottom half of the bracket, No. 2 seed Lehman Catholic (8-2) will host seventh-seed Covington (6-4), with the winner advancing to the semifinal against either No. 3 seed Miami Valley Christian (7-2) and No. 6 Troy Christian (7-3).
All games will be played Saturdays at 7 p.m.
The Tribe is one of six schools in the 10-team Midwest Athletic Conference to make playoffs, and MAC schools are 51-1 in regional quarterfinal games against non-MAC teams.
Advance tickets will be available from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and 7:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday in the high school office. They will also be available from 7:45 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the middle school.
All advance tickets are $8, and tickets at the gate are $9.
